LGPL source and rebuilding

LAME MP3 encoder and FFmpeg libraries are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Each ships as a separate WebAssembly module that is loaded only when a tool needs it and is not linked into AudioTools' own code, so you can replace it with your own build. This page is where the corresponding source is offered: the exact upstream archives below, and the build scripts served under /licenses/source/.

ComponentVersionLicense textUpstream source at that version
LAME MP3 encoder3.100COPYING.LGPLv2.1.txtlame-3.100.tar.gz
FFmpeg libraries9.0COPYING.LGPLv3.txtffmpeg-9.0.tar.xz, libav.js v6.10.9.0, opencore-amr-0.1.6.tar.gz

FFmpeg is built together with opencore-amr, so that module is distributed under LGPL-3.0-or-later; LAME is LGPL-2.0-or-later. The libav.js build fetches FFmpeg, libopus, libvorbis and libogg at the pinned versions itself, and libav.js carries its own FFmpeg patches in its patches/ folder.

Keep the folder layout of /licenses/source/scripts/, run build-libav-legacy.sh (it writes vendor/libav-legacy/) or build-lame-wasm.sh, and serve the resulting files in place of the matching ones under /_astro/.
