Drop in WebM files and get WAV back in seconds, processed entirely on your device.
WEBM files (most other audio and video files work too). Files stay on your device.
How it works
- Choose your WebM file, or drop it on the page. You can add several files at once.
- Pick the sample rate and bit depth, or keep the source values to avoid any change.
- Click Convert. Processing happens on your device and shows progress; you can cancel at any time.
- Preview the result and download the WAV file. With several files, download them all as one ZIP.
About WebM to WAV conversion
WebM (WebM container with Opus or Vorbis audio) suits recordings made in the browser and audio taken from web video. WAV (Waveform Audio File Format, RIFF container) suits editing, mastering, sampling and handing audio between programs without quality loss.
WebM is lossy, and no converter can restore detail that was already discarded. The WAV file will sound the same as the WebM source and will be larger; the point of the conversion is compatibility with software or hardware that needs WAV.
For a 4-minute track, a typical WebM file is about 3 MB and a typical WAV file is about 42 MB. Your own result depends on the bitrate and the audio itself.
WebM vs WAV
WAV support: Opens in every audio editor and operating system. Browsers and phones play it, though not every player shows tags.
WebM support: Plays in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Android. Browser recordings (MediaRecorder) are usually WebM.

Quality and compatibility notes
- WAV: Large files: about 10 MB per minute at CD quality. The classic format stops at 4 GB, which RF64 extends.
- WebM: Poor support in desktop audio players and editors, and on older Apple software.
- Tags: WAV stores limited: RIFF INFO chunks, and BWF or iXML metadata in broadcast files.
Questions
Does converting WebM to WAV reduce quality?
No further loss happens, but none is recovered either: WAV stores what the WebM file already contained.
How big will the WAV file be?
For a 4-minute track, a typical WebM file is about 3 MB and a typical WAV file is about 42 MB. Your own result depends on the bitrate and the audio itself.
Is my WebM file uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device. The file is never sent to a server, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
